June 14 – June 22, 2026
For high school boys

The Dominican Republic Service Project

The Dominican Republic Service Project offers high school participants the opportunity to live solidarity, through a renovation project for needy family, running a day camp for children, and volunteering at an residence for the elderly. In this demanding and rewarding service volunteers will discover the great joy of sacrificing themselves for others.

Participants will work with and make friends with local high school students who will also participate in the service projects and lodge with the group, learning about their culture and way of life. Participants will also have the opportunity to take advantage of spiritual activities such as daily Mass, Holy Rosary, and regular times for prayer.

The Program

Participants will spend a full week in Buenavista, a conference center of Opus Dei in Jarabacoa, a city in the mountainous region, north west of the capital Santo Domingo. The days will be spent in three different projects. One group will help refurbish the house of a needy person. A second group will run a day camp for middle school children from the local parish. And the third group will go help lunch at a residence for the elderly and disabled.

Participants will spend time in sports and other social activities, and they will have the chance to go on a cultural trip sightseeing trip and a hiking expedition to a nearby national park. There will be presentations about the history and geography of the Dominicana.
